In response to the concerns that were posted to this site anonymously related to our service, we offer the following explanations and background information:

-  Alert1 monitoring service is provided over standard landline phone service.   If your phone service is complicated via the use of multiple lines in the home, Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP), or other digital phone providers, our service may require additional equipment to work properly.   As soon as you receive your Alert1 system, please test it by pressing your help button to ensure it is working correctly under a variety of conditions, and contact us by phone at 1-800-693-5433 if you have any issues or concerns.  Please contact us to discuss your situation and we will be happy to determine the solution that is right for you.

- Alert1 offers different service plans to meet different customer needs including monthly, quarterly and annual plans.  We do not require long term contracts and we do not charge either activation or cancellation fees.  Alert1 offers a 30 day risk-free guarantee and will refund the full service plan cost during that period.   If a customer chooses a longer service plan in order to receive a discount on our service, we do not offer a refund on the unused portion of the service.  A partial refund may be offered in rare extenuating circumstances.

- Alert1 begins the day-to-day monitoring of your account as soon as we ship the equipment to your home.  We monitor your account to make sure you have connected your system correctly, to ensure you are provided with the emergency monitoring service you require. If your system is not working correctly, we will follow up with both the subscriber and the subscriber’s personal emergency contacts to resolve any connection problems.  Until your system is set up correctly, you may not be able to communicate with us or get emergency monitoring coverage.
    
-  Alert1 is one of only a few medical alert companies that offer a range extender that will enlarge the coverage area in which your monitoring equipment will work. The range covered by the base unit as well as the range extender  may vary depending on the layout and construction materials in your home, so please test your complete system by pushing your help button at various locations in your home.   Please contact us via phone to discuss your home’s layout and we will be happy to work with you to determine the right solution for your home.
